National Centre for Music seeks Director of Operations & Commercial
7 October 2026
Our colleagues at the National Centre for Music (NCM) are now recruiting for a Director of Operations & Commercial.
They are seeking an individual who can lead on finely-tuned operational planning, ensuring the National Centre for Music is safe and welcoming for all, delivering a customer experience that keeps people coming back for more, and configuring commercial activities that drive revenue. Together these elements will strengthen NCM's ability to deliver on its artistic and charitable mission for the long-term.
You will work very closely with other senior colleagues to plan and implement effective systems, prepare for operations and manage the transition to running a 7-day-a week public venue. This will be over four key phases: planning and recruitment; mobilisation; launch year; ‘normal running’.
You will be pivotal in the development of a trading subsidiary and its associated activities and revenue streams; be the key relationship holder with a Food & Beverage provider; and the mastermind behind how the day-to-day functions develop all (both inside and outside) - including building venue management systems, health and safety protocols, and all compliance.

The closing date is 12 noon on Wednesday 28 October.
